Echoes of Identity (2025)

Role: Director, Producer, Editor

Organisation: Film Installation for London College of Communication Black History Month exhibition (2025)

Like many places in the UK, Harlesden is changing. Rising house prices, higher rents and beloved locally run shops closing down after decades of trading but at the heart of it, lies a resilient close knit community who are determined to stay. Inspired by the City Symphony genre, ‘Echoes of Identity’ is a love letter to a home town. This short poetic doc examines the complicated push and pull between heritage, identity, loss of culture cornerstones such as traditions and rapid cultural evolution. The film attempts to explore if there can be a happy medium in the midst of change. This film was selected for the UAL Black History Month exhibition, Speaking From The Margins held at London College of Communication.
